▶ HEY, I'M DART
My Name is DART, at the begining of 2026 I started a new job where I had a two hour journey to work via 2 Trains and a bus.
I'm new to reading as a proper hobby. I have a lot to read and not as much time.
The alias is DART. This site is where I track my reading, share impressions, and document the whole messy journey of becoming a reader from scratch.

▶ LOG #001 — WHY I STARTED READING
My whole life I have been surrounded by books and readers, but I never saw myself being a reader. My father had a extensive library and was always reading something, but I just never got into it. I thought it wasn't for me, that I wouldn't enjoy it, that it would be too much effort. I was wrong.
In the past year, I started a new job that involved a long commute by public transport.
After A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS came out on HBO, I fell back in love with the world of A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, a world I had explored ever since I first watched A GAME OF THRONES, which led to me doing wiki deep dives and watching hours of YouTube video and theories. But I never had read the books. I told myself I didn't have the attention span for it, that it would be too much effort, that I could not read them. But now, I have discovered my love for reading, I look forward to my morning commute, listening to ambient music while I engross myself in the book. It isnt just A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, I have read other books that have captured my imagination. Books that have made me think deeply
So I decided I wanted a place to document my reading journey. A place of my own to write and to log and to update as I go. I have a Goodreads but it felt impersonal, I learned of Neocities and knew this was where I had to be.
▶ LOG #002 — THE TBR PILE PROBLEM
I have bought so many books this year, hundreds of dollars worth, I actually am not sure how much exactly as I fear for my wallet. But once I finish A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE I will be able to get through much of my bookshelf as I have a lot of smaller reads. Not any less interesting I hope.
